John began his career in photography as a photographer with the Gainesville Sun newspaper. Over time he witnessed a catastrophic decline in the health of the natural Florida environment. "I just wanted to be a nature photographer shooting pretty pictures, but reality keeps getting in the way....I could no longer ignore the realities of my beloved state in decline. Its future is being decided by people who look around Florida and see only opportunity for profit. What I see is opportunity for spiritual connection."
