The Florida Museum of Natural History is pleased to announce a new addition to ButterflyFest. Please join us for the first Pollinator Photography Contest!
The purpose of the Pollinator Photography Contest is to educate and promote awareness of local pollinators through photography. Photos must include at least one pollinator in the photograph, whether a bat, bee, bird, butterfly or moth.
Entry categories include:
- Adult (ages 18 and up)
- Junior (ages 10-17)
All entries must be submitted Aug. 15 - Sept. 1, 2009.

Awards
First place winners in each category will receive cash awards, with prize packages given to second- and third-place winners. All winners, including honorable mentions, will receive a ribbon commemorating this event.
The Florida Museum of Natural History will display all winning and honorable mention photos Oct. 24 - Nov. 30, 2009. These photos will also be included on the ButterflyFest web site, and will appear in The Gainesville Sun on Sunday, Oct. 25. An awards ceremony will take place during ButterflyFest at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24.

- $100 cash
2nd Place - Adult
- $25 certificate to Museum gift shop
- Individual annual pass to the Butterfly Rainforest (valued at $29)
3rd Place - Adult
- Individual annual pass to the Butterfly Rainforest (valued at $29)
1st Place - Junior
- $75 cash
2nd Place - Junior
- $25 certificate to Museum gift shop
3rd Place - Junior
- $10 certificate to Museum gift shop
