Paynes Prairie Cranes

I mentioned this at this month's meeting and thought it might be worth a mention here as well.  I went out to La Chua trail recently and found that the number of Sandhill Cranes is on the increase.  The water levels on the Prairie are a little lower than what we had this time last year but it looks as though we may well be in for another great year for getting some good photos of our yearly migratory friends.

Links to Photoshop Elements Tutorials & Goodies

I am posting a couple links you may find helpful if you are using Photoshop Elements. The first is http://www.graphic-design.com/Photoshop/tutorial/elements-color-correcti... and is related to color correcting your photos. It is pretty staight forward so you will have no trouble following this tutorial.

The second link addresses the use of smart filters, vector drawing, paths, masks and more. The features I refer to are NOT normally available in Elements so if you would like to know more I suggest you take a look at http://www.graphic-design.com/design/graphic-design/elements-plus-filter... .

Photography Blogs and Features

I'll be posting some links to some unique and notable photography blogs. Hope you enjoy the images and content! These are some great photographers and some of the tips they share are absolutely fantastic! Features are in italics.

Review: Epson P6000: Not Just For Photographers?

Thought you would be interested in this article. It is a review of the Epson P6000 from WebWorkerDaily

If you are a serious photographer, one of the things you live (or work) most in fear of is of losing a whole session of shots before you are able to properly back them up. This can happen in many ways: equipment loss, memory card failure, accidental erasure, or theft. But as with everything digital, there’s a gadget that can help solve that problem — if you are willing to pay the price.

WorldImages - Worth a view

Howdy Folks,

In my surfing, I ran across WorldImages. The site is:

The internationally recognized WorldImages database provides access to the California State University IMAGE Project. It contains almost 75,000 images, is global in coverage and includes all areas of visual imagery. WorldImages is accessible anywhere and its images may be freely used for non-profit educational purposes. The images can be located using many search techniques, and for convenience they are organized into over 800 portfolios which are then organized into subject groupings.

Hope you enjoy.
